Crews

Practice times are available for crews most evenings, with day or weekend times possible with special arrangement. We’re booking our 2024 spring and summer seasons now, but spots are still open! Contact dragonboat@burloakcanoeclub.com to find out about available times and costs.

Please note that for insurance reasons, all crews are required to have a Burloak coach. If you have your own coach you’re bringing with you that’s great! But we’ll have to have one of our own coaches sit in as a supervisor for safety.

Individuals

Drop-in classes are available from Spring. We offer two levels of class, Beginner and Intermediate. Schedule and sign up is available through the link below.

Drop-In Dragon Boat “Beginner”: 1 hour dragon boat class for all levels
Drop-In Dragon Boat “Intermediate”: 1 hour dragon boat class for intermediate paddlers

General Information

  • Bringing your own PFD is recommended if you have one. We have PFDs available at the club for those who do not have one. Please note that our PFDs are in adult sizes; children’s sizes may be limited or unavailable.

  • All of our sessions will be run entirely outside, so dress appropriately. Athletic clothing and footwear suitable for the weather should be worn—you may get wet, so dress for that (you may consider having a change of clothes and footwear).

  • There are public washrooms on site, maintained by the Town of Oakville.

  • In the event of storms or other bad weather we may cancel activities. We will always try to give as much notice as possible, however weather can change quickly and safety will be our primary consideration. If we can’t begin on-water activities due to storms or other bad weather you’ll be able to transfer your registration to another day, or get a full refund. We will run activities in light rain or cloudy and cool conditions, so plan accordingly.
