Facilitated by one of our most experienced Burloak coaches, these dragon boat sessions are a fantastic opportunity to get on the water and improve your paddling skills.
Whether you are stepping into a dragon boat for the first time or you’re a seasoned competitor, these sessions are designed to ensure you have fun, get a great workout and learn something new every time. Each practice includes personalized feedback to help you develop and refine your technique.

Dragon boat is the perfect way to build camaraderie with any group. This session will help your team learn to work efficiently together to accomplish a common goal. Teamwork is key when dragon boating because the boat moves the fastest when everyone is in stroke.

No. All of our programs are rain or shine. That being said, we need to wait 30 minutes after the last thunder to proceed with on-water programs. If it thunders within 30 min of the start of your session, it will be postponed for a later date of your choice.

Wear clothing and footwear you don’t mind getting wet. Additionally, you should dress for the weather in athletic clothes of your choice.

For your first practice, arrive at least 15 minutes early to get your bearings, For subsequent practices, arrive no later than 5 minutes early. The boat will leave without you if you are late.

The meeting spot is under a green tent with picnic tables on the North side of the building. From the parking lot walk down the right side of the building, past the deck, and you should see it.

No, all of our programs include free rentals from our large assortment of paddles from 44” - 50”.

We do recommend that you purchase your own lifejackets, but we have some on site for you to borrow if needed. Make sure to re-clip the lifejacket to the wooden beams in the dragon boat shed. Please note that most of our life jackets are in adult sizesonly. Ask your coach about discounts with local partnering stores.
